Went there today and bought a Doña, a California Loaf and a Field Loaf. All scrumptious. Staff were very welcoming and informative. Called later to check into whether the two breads I purchased are indeed vegan, and the staff member who answered was also professional and helpful.

We didn’t intend on coming here, but it was an opportunity to try Gusto since there was barely any line on the Saturday morning.

I love Gusto for enjoying a coffee and a pastry, plus a dorado loaf and a bag of crostini to take home. Everything is delicious and I really appreciate that they use reusable dishes for dine-in coffee orders, water cups, etc., rather than single-use disposables. I also really appreciate that they opted to keep their parklet for outdoor dining.

Ordered the Nixtamal Queen and Jamon Roll. I really liked the former - crunchy and doughy, with savory corn masada in the middle. Definitely the star between the two. I enjoyed the jamon, however, not full of meat or flavor inside the pastry, so the opposite of the Nixtamal Queen, which is packed with flavor and texture. Gusto lives up to the label as a world-class bakery. Excited to try the other menu items. There was a consistent line around 12 pm, and some menu items will sell out, so come early!

Best Mexican bakery in California—and not just for traditional pastries. Gusto Bread is a Mexican-influenced artisan bakery, not your average panadería. It’s a fusion that feels just right: thoughtful, balanced, and full of flavor.

Hands down the best bread in LB and even all of SoCal actually ... Get there early because their bread sells out fast! Not surprising The Washington Post included them on their Top 10 list of bakeries in the US ... Blessing having them 5 min away 🙏🏽

I‘m German so I’m very picky with the type of bread I like (and let’s be honest, most „bread“ sold in the US is a disgrace to the original product). I came to Gusto today for the first time and purchased a great looking sourdough loaf. The employee was very knowledgeable and explained all the different type of breads they had available. It was a busy day but he took his time with us. When I cut the bread later at home, I almost teared up. This tastes so close to home and brought back a taste I haven’t experienced for the 5 years I’m living overseas. This is craftsmanship, THANK YOU - your work is highly appreciated and I’m proud to live in a neighborhood with you guys. I will become a regular.

Enjoyed this place more than I thought. The foods, breads, coffee are excellent and costs less than I thought. The service is wonderful and with caring & smile. The place smells delish upon walking in and well displaced of the foods and everything else. There are seatings inside, outside and street patio. Just a cozy and relaxing place for me with great foods and drinks.

The quintessential neighborhood bakery with hot off the oven artisan loaves, creatively crafted savory and sweet pastries, and rare finds like the authentic Argentinian alfajor. Pair any of them with a cup of coffee made by the friendly staff at one of the window tables and feel your heart smile.

Beautiful bakery cafe in our neighborhood! The home baked breads, pastries and assortment of cafés can't be beat. The atmosphere is beautiful, design is thoughtful and staff and service impeccable. Try the jamon pastry and café de olla and take home a loaf of their artesian sourdough for later. If you're visiting for diner in, sit outside on their beautiful patio and enjoy your goodies and company on site. Either way, para llevar or eating there, Gusto is a great choice.
